The Phaetus Conch Hotend is a high-performance drop-in replacement for the QIDI Plus4, engineered to solve the common heatbreak failures while delivering superior flow rates and exceptional durability. Featuring Phaetus's patented EndCoat™ coating technology, the included nozzle lasts up to 2.5× longer than standard hardened steel when printing abrasive materials like carbon fibre, glass fibre, and wood-filled filaments. With a maximum flow rate of 30mm³/s and temperature support up to 370°C, this hotend handles everything from high-speed PLA printing to demanding engineering filaments with ease.
Key Features
- High flow rate up to 30mm³/s for smooth, high-speed printing
- EndCoat™ coated nozzles — 2.5× longer life than hardened steel with abrasive filaments
- 370°C maximum temperature for engineering-grade materials
- 30-second quick nozzle changes with V6-compatible ecosystem
- Direct drop-in replacement — no firmware changes or custom brackets required

Why Upgrade to the Conch Hotend?
The QIDI Plus4 is a capable printer, but its stock hotend has a known weakness — the heatbreak spacer is prone to failure, often requiring a complete hotend replacement. The Phaetus Conch solves this issue with a robust full-metal design, patented rigid kinematic coupling, and premium materials throughout. You get improved reliability, better flow performance, and access to the entire V6 nozzle ecosystem including EndCoat and SiC (silicon carbide) options.
Ideal For
- QIDI Plus4 users experiencing heatbreak or hotend failures
- Printing abrasive filaments (CF, GF, wood, metal-filled) without rapid nozzle wear
- High-speed printing requiring consistent flow at 30mm³/s
- Engineering applications requiring temperatures up to 370°C
Installation Notes
- Drop-In Fit: Matches QIDI Plus4 mounting points, wiring, and dimensions — no modifications needed
- Hot Tightening Required: Always perform hot tightening when installing or replacing nozzles to prevent leaks. Nozzles tightened cold may develop gaps due to metal expansion
- Caution: Heater block, nozzle, and surrounding components become extremely hot during operation — use proper tools and heat-resistant gloves
Available Variants
- 0.2mm Nozzle — for ultra-fine detail work (miniatures, intricate patterns)
- 0.4mm Nozzle — standard all-purpose printing
- 0.6mm Nozzle — faster prints with good detail balance
- 0.8mm Nozzle — high-speed, large-scale prints
- Thermistor & Ceramic Heating — spare heater/thermistor assembly
Upgrade your QIDI Plus4 with Phaetus engineering. The Conch Hotend delivers the reliability, performance, and material compatibility that serious makers demand — backed by Phaetus's reputation for premium hotend technology.
