Bambu Lab PLA Aero is a lightweight foaming PLA built for printing RC planes, gliders, drones and other parts where every gram counts. It foams at high print temperatures, creating tiny air pockets inside the print, so a model comes out at roughly half the weight of the same part printed in PLA Basic.
- Low density prints: the filament is regular PLA density, but printed parts come out at around 50% to 80% of normal density.
- Adjustable weight: raise the print temperature and lower the flow rate to make parts lighter still.
- Tougher than pre-foamed filaments: handles knocks, crashes and drops better than wood-fill style PLA.
- With spool: 1kg of 1.75mm filament on a reusable Bambu Lab spool, ready to load straight into your printer or AMS.
Foaming PLA needs to be dry and dialled in, so start from the Bambu Studio PLA Aero profile and dry the spool before printing. A 0.6mm or 0.8mm hardened steel nozzle is recommended.
