The Bambu Lab AMS Lite Filament Hub is the essential connection point between your AMS Lite and the A1 or A1 Mini toolhead. This 5-way hub merges up to four filament paths from the AMS Lite into a single output that feeds directly into the extruder, enabling reliable multi-colour and multi-material printing. As a purely mechanical component with integrated filament sensing, the hub ensures smooth filament transitions during colour changes while the built-in sensor detects when filament reaches the toolhead.
Key Features
- 5-way design — connects 4 PTFE tubes (from AMS Lite) to single extruder output
- Integrated filament sensor for reliable detection at the toolhead
- Low-friction internal channels for smooth filament feeding
- Quick-release buckle mounting system for easy installation and removal
- Official Bambu Lab OEM replacement part
Specifications
- Part Number: SA006-N
- Inputs: 4× PTFE tube connections (from AMS Lite)
- Output: 1× connection to extruder
- Filament Detection: Integrated magnetic sensor (green dot indicator on screen)
- Mounting: Buckle system — press to lock, release to remove
- Tools Required: H2.0 and H1.5 hex wrenches (for disassembly/cleaning)
Compatibility
- Bambu Lab A1
- Bambu Lab A1 Mini
Note: This hub is specifically designed for AMS Lite systems. It is not compatible with AMS, AMS 2 Pro, or AMS HT — those systems require the separate A1 Series AMS Hub accessory.
What's in the Box
- AMS Lite Filament Hub ×1
- Mounting Buckles ×2 (for securing hub to toolhead)
How It Works
The AMS Lite Filament Hub sits on top of the extruder assembly. Four PTFE tubes from the AMS Lite connect to the hub's input ports, while a single internal channel guides whichever filament is currently selected down into the extruder. When the printer initiates a filament change, the AMS Lite retracts the current filament and feeds the new colour through the hub. The integrated filament sensor confirms when material reaches the toolhead, displaying a green dot on the printer screen.
When to Replace the Filament Hub
- Manual Loading Resistance: Significant obstruction when hand-feeding filament into the hub
- AMS Feed Failure: Filament reaches the hub but printer reports "Unable to feed filament into the extruder"
- Sensor Not Triggering: No green dot appears on the toolhead icon when filament is loaded
- False Positive Sensor: Green dot shows constantly even with no filament loaded
- Worn or Damaged Outlet: Visible chipping or wear at the filament exit point
Maintenance Tips
The filament hub can be disassembled for cleaning if you experience feeding issues or stuck filament. The hub contains a spring mechanism and magnet assembly that work with the filament sensor — take care not to lose the magnet during disassembly as it's required for the detection function. Use tweezers to release PTFE tubes by pressing the black collar, and use a piece of filament to push out any debris from the opposite direction. Full cleaning instructions are available on the Bambu Lab Wiki.
Ideal For
- Replacing a worn or damaged filament hub
- Resolving filament feeding or detection issues
- Spare parts inventory for A1 Series printers with AMS Lite
- Restoring reliable multi-colour printing performance
The Filament Hub is a small but critical component of the AMS Lite system. When it's working correctly, you get seamless multi-colour prints without feeding errors or detection failures. Keep a spare on hand to minimise downtime if issues arise.
